Q: How can I help my dog's cracked paws? A: The pads of a dog's paw are very slow healers, mostly because any time the dog walks on the paw, it pulls on the healing edges, which delays the healing process. The pads can become infected from the contact of the sore and the surface that your dog walks on. Keeping the paw clean and free of infection, is of primary concern.
